Whitewater Kayak – for the fearless river rider..
Whitewater Kayaking uses a closed deck canoe which generally has 2 air chambers at the rear of the boat and is used for paddling down rapids, which can be classified from simple, gentle moving water (known as Class 1 rapids) to demanding, dangerous rapids (maximum degree of generally accepted – Class 5 rapids), Class 6 rapids are exceptionally dangerous and are not to be affronted in any case (i.e. Niagara falls)
The Sesia River is a perfect environment for this sport, if either for novices, or for more experienced kayakers, its natural beauty and its rapids (from gentle ripples of water slowly flowing) to more committing rapids like the “Trancia” or even the famous “Balmuccia” (to be attempted only by expert Kayakers.
This river is just the perfect location for all international white water lovers…
All-inclusive watersport activities
All our activities foresee reception in our Chalet at the Scopello Sports area in Piazzale delle Seggiovie, where you can easily park your car to then access reception for your Check-in procedures before your activity pre-briefing.
General information
- All participants must be able to swim at least 25meters;
- Minimum age requested 16 years old
- The entire duration of the activity is comprehensive of the activity in the water, the technical briefing on land and in the water, transport to and from the activity and the kitting out

Three proposals, one for each degree of capability:
Kayak - tester
Suggested for all individuals who have no previous experience in Kayak but are keen to learn the necessary techniques
Duration of lesson: approx 4,00hrs
Individual lessons: €65.00/pp*
Kayak - Intermediate
The natural follow up for all participants who have already experienced the “Kayak Tester”, and therefore need to deepen their knowledge of Kayaking techniques, from a safety point of view but also improvement of Kayaking in Rapids (including the techniques necessary for Eskimo)
Weekend activity (2half day sessions) €110.00/pp*
*At least 3 weekend sessions are necessary before proceeding onto the “advanced” proposal
Kayak - Advanced
This level is suitable for participants who have a fair knowledge of Whitewater Kayaking but who feel that its necessary to improve their technique, or push themselves a little further than their actual capacity
One week course (5 half day activites) €200.00/pp*
*All prices herewith mentioned are All-inclusive (comprehensive of membership), and are for a minimum of 2 participants, for individual courses a surcharge is forecasted.

Technical notes:
Sesia Explorer’s Technical director decides the various riversport trips upon the basis of the volume of the water present in the River Sesia or in its affluents, to guarantee maximum fun and most of all maximum safety.
For each Riversport activity we supply the technical equipment required plus a professional experienced guide per raft combined with a overall trip leader in charge of the trip there wll also be a logistics manager on land who is also a very experienced guide. All equipment required which includes over £200 worth of 3mm top quality neoprene wetsuits, helmets, splash jackets, neoprene boots and lifejackets other than your paddle and your Kayak. Transport from our base on and off the river.
Clothing suggested:
Fleece or microfibre long sleeve top, swimming costume, wool/neoprene socks, and articles for the shower.
